Jacinta Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practice (TCM) that has been used for thousands of years to improve physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It is a safe and effective method of treatment for many common ailments and conditions.
NHS NICE Guidance stipulates that Acupuncture can be beneficial for anybody suffering with chronic pain, headaches and migraines, neck pain, joint pain, dental pain and also post-operative pain (please also see the Lymphatic Drainage Massage treatments available at Jacinta Holistic Therapies for pre and post surgery).
Within TCM there are around 2000 acupuncture points on the body and several of them are situated over meridian lines that run up and down the whole of the body. Meridian Lines are the channels that carry Qi or energy around the body and its organs. Blocked channels can cause pain and illness therefore, by stimulating these acupuncture points along the meridian lines with fine acupuncture needles, will effectively improve the flow of Qi and thus reducing pain.
Acupuncture promotes overall wellbeing whilst reducing pain simultaneously. For example, if you are suffering chronic pain such as fibromyalgia, you will find that acupuncture will not just reduce your physical pain but will also improve your sense of wellbeing. It’s proven to be very successful in reducing pain medication and can be used as a preventative to some drugs/medicines.
There are minimal side effects to acupuncture for example slight busing or bleed once the needles are removed. These will be discussed during the consultation.
It is advised that patients must already have been medically diagnose with a medical condition prior to treatment as Jacinta Holistic Therapies does not provide a diagnostic medical service. All treatments are dealt with on an individual basis and some patients may need to receive more treatments than others in order to significantly reduce their symptoms/pain based on their condition. Generally, long term conditions will require more sessions than an acute condition.
It is also advised that acupuncture therapy is not a guaranteed treatment and it does not always work for everyone. At Jacinta Holistic Therapies, if after the first 2 initial sessions there is no reduction in symptoms or pain we will recommend an alternative therapy or treatment plan. A minimum of two sessions must be booked within 4 days of each treatment in the first week of treatment so that we can see if acupuncture is working effectively. The number of sessions will be advised by the therapist during the consultation.
The first treatment will consist of a full medical consultation and the first acupuncture treatment will be administered totalling to a 1hr & 15 min treatment at £55. Then further individual sessions will be a 1hr session at £50 each.
